On Saturday I came back from rainy Germany to sunny Barcelona. After a siesta in order to recover my energies we headed towards Poble Sec, where the annual neighbourhood festival took place. We headed towards one of the streets where some excellent dj:s played dubstep (PobledubSec), and I loved it.

We stayed there amidst grill and graffiti fumes for a while until we got so hungry we had to move on. And when you’re in Poble Sec, how can you just not go to Can Margarit?

Can Margarit is so full of charm that you don’t know what hit you when you leave with your belly stuffed with rosemary rabbit and local cheese and wine. It’s an old tavern, and when I say old I mean old.

When entering the restaurant you see lots of huge barrels with candles on them. Don’t hurry to be seated, you can help yourself to a few little glasses of wine if you wish.

The menu is short but intense and filled with local specialities. This is what we had, rabbit, chipirones, olives and cheese:

Everything was so delicious, and we had to have dessert, of course, almond pudding. And moscatel on the house:

We left very satisfied, and headed to Calle Roser where another dj played lovely Latin tunes, and we danced the night away. Well, at least until midnight..! 🙂

Jag tog mig i kragen i lördags trots att jag var trött efter allt resande och besökte den årliga festivalen i stadsdelen Poble Sec. Vi lyssnade till dubsteb och åt så himla gott och dansade litegrann!
