What am I doing here?

Hello. I am Maria. I come from Finland, but ended up in Barcelona. How did that happen?

A few years ago, an afternoon in August, I called a friend and asked her if we could talk. A couple of weeks earlier we had been on a trip together, a trip that had awakened an unbearable restlessness.

We set the table for a candle-lit evening together: candles, olives, jamón, a good spanish wine, manchego cheese… Isn’t that a coincidence. We listened to Jason Mraz and my friend listened to me.

I told her about my unbearable longing to go somewhere, see something new, learn something different. I wanted to decide all by MYSELF, experience everything by MYSELF, make it on my own. And come home when I was done.

4 years later I am still not done. But I am so much happier.

Funny I ran into your blog because I was googling when primark in l’illa would open haha. Very interesting to read and I love your pictures. I’m actually is a very similar position as you. I’m from the U.S. and moved here about 4 months ago on a whim all by myself. It’s crazy all the different emotions you go through but I love it here! Definitely been meaning to create a blog as well, but so lazy haha. Anyways, just wanted to say hi and that I like your blog 🙂
