One of my top things to visit in NY was Strand bookstore. They advertise themselves as having “18 miles of books” and I don’t doubt it for a second. They have both second-hand and new books, and you can find anything you ever dreamed about. We went there twice and this is what I came home with:

Two books I had already decided beforehand I wanted to buy: Alice Hoffman’s The River King and Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables (the three first volumes). The River King because it’s one of the most beautiful and magical books I’ve ever read, and Anne of Green Gables because I’m so nostalgic and I want to read the books in their original language (I’ve only read them in Swedish). But I did found a little something else too! And the Strand Bookstore bag was of course a must, too…

Länge innan resan hade jag bestämt mig att ett besök på Strand Bookstore var ett måste. Och det blev till och med två besök, så jag kom hem med en liten hög med böcker, och deras obligatoriska väska förstås! Två böcker hade jag på min önskelista: Alice Hoffmans fina och magiska “The River King” och Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne på Grönkulla på originalspråk, nostalgisk som jag är.
